DURHAM, N.C. - Former Duke defensive tackle Josiah Green has agreed to terms with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to join the NFL organization as an undrafted free agent.
Green, a 6-1, 285-pound product of Indianapolis, Indiana, lettered one season (2025) at Duke after being a four-year member (2021-22-23-24) and three-year letterman (2022-23-24) for the football program at Dartmouth. He was a unanimous All-Ivy selection in 2024 and a second-team pick in 2023. He helped guide the Big Green to a combined record of 17-13 with a share of the Ivy League crowns in 2022 and 2023. In Durham, he assisted in Duke claiming its first outright ACC Championship since 1962 and the 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl crown.Â
In 44 career games (34 starts), Green registered 157 tackles, 27.0 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks, one fumble recovery, five pass breakups and six quarterback pressures. He carded three or more tackles on 29 occasions and five or more 15 times. He posted a career-high 10 tackles at Harvard in 2023. Green booked a career-best 3.0 TFL, including 1.0 sack, at Yale in 2024.
With the Blue Devils, Green was the defensive recipient of the team's Hard Hitter Award, presented to the hardest-hitting and most physical players on the team. He started all 14 games and ended the campaign with 37 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups and two quarterback pressures. He booked two or more tackles in nine contests, five or more in four and a season-high seven versus NC State.
Green registered 1.0+ TFL four times with a year-high 2.0 against Elon and added 1.5 versus Wake Forest. He carded at least 0.5 tackle for loss in four consecutive games from November 8 – 29. He also tallied 1.0 sack against Elon, Connecticut and North Carolina and added 0.5 sacks versus NC State. In three wins versus ACC in-state foes, Green tallied 17 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Green graduated from Dartmouth in December 2024 with a degree in anthropology.
