Junior libero Sasha Karelov became the 21st player in Duke history to reach 1,000 career digs after a 20-dig performance Sept. 25 against Virginia ... Since taking over the starting libero duties in 2014, Karelov has picked up double-digit digs in 55 of Duke's 57 matches during that span ... She begins the weekend averaging 4.13 digs per set for her career, good for fifth all-time at Duke ... Her 1,339 career digs also rank eighth in program history and Karelov is 14 digs shy of tying for seventh all-time.
Meyer Makes an Impact
Freshman middle blocker Leah Meyer is off to a strong start to begin her collegiate career ... She currently leads the team in total blocks (95.0) and blocks per set (1.00) ... Meyer has recorded 12 matches with double-digit kills, including a career-high 17 Sept. 12 against UNC Wilmington and again Oct. 25 versus Virginia Tech ... Deichmeister Among Duke Assist Leaders
Redshirt senior setter Maggie Deichmeister continues to climb the Duke career assists chart ... She enters the week with 3,036 career assists and a career 9.92 assist per set average, good for sixth and fifth in program history, respectively ... Deichmeister is the 10th setter in program history to top 2,000 career assists and the eighth to reach 2,500 ... Deichmeister is the seventh Blue Devil to reach 3,000 career assists ... She dished out a career-high 68 assists versus No. 18 Florida State Oct. 9, marking the third time in her career she has topped the 60-assist plateau and the second time this season (the other, Sept. 11 against No. 3 Stanford) ...
