Duke 110, Western Michigan 70
Team Notes:
¨ Duke extended its NCAA-leading home court win streak to 42 games which is the second longest streak in school history. The school record is 46 straight home wins from Jan. 13, 1997 to Feb. 9, 2000. Duke has not lost on Coach K Court since Feb. 11, 2009.
¨ Duke started 11-1 for the 16th time in school history and the 12th time under Krzyzewski.
¨ The Blue Devils have now won 92 consecutive non-conference home games in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
¨ In December, Duke is now 54-3 under Coach K. Duke has won 15 straight December games with 12 of those wins coming by double digits.
¨ Duke scored over 100 points for the first time this season and improved to 107-2 under Coach K when scoring 100 points. The 110 points are the most since Nov. 19, 2010 against Colgate (110-58). Duke is 80-0 on Coach K court under Krzyzewski when scoring 100 points.
¨ Duke's 63 first-half points were the most this season and the most in a first half since a 67-point performance against N.C. Central on Nov. 9, 2007.
¨ The Blue Devils sank a season-high 14 three-pointers and shot 51.9 percent from behind the arc. Duke has shot 50 percent or better from the three-point line three times this season.
¨ Coming off of a 68.8 percent free throw shooting performance against UNC Greensboro, Duke shot a season-high 80.0 percent from the line.
¨ Duke scored 19 consecutive points during a 4:16 span in the first half, marking the longest scoring streak of the season.
¨ Seth Curry (22 points) and Austin Rivers (20 points) both reached 20 points, giving Duke its second pair of 20-point scorers in a game this season. Duke also had a pair of 20-points scorers against Michigan State on Nov. 15 (Curry – 20 points, Andre Dawkins – 26 points).
¨ Duke's 50 rebounds were a season high, as was the +22 rebound margin. Western Michigan pulled in just 28 rebounds.
¨ The 12 blocks were Duke's most this season and tied for the eighth most in school history.
Player Notes:
Quinn Cook
¨ Was given a career-high 23 minutes of playing time and responded by scoring a career-high 16 points with a career-high eight assists. A career-high seven of those points came from the FT line as he shot 7-for-8. He scored in double figures for the second straight game and the third time this year.
¨ Dished out eight assists without committing a single turnover. Cook has committed only six turnovers in 128 minutes this season, good for an average of 21.3 minutes between turnovers.
¨ Duke scored 61 points during Cook's 23 minutes on the court.
Seth Curry
¨ Made his 25th consecutive start. Duke is 21-4 during that 25-game streak.
¨ Put together a breakout game, matching a career high with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Curry also logged two steals, a block, three rebounds and four assists.
¨ Increased his consecutive made free throw streak to 25, but ended the streak in the first half. Curry's FT streak began on Nov. 15 against Michigan State and spanned 10 games.
¨ Went 3-for-4 from the three-point line, increasing his career three-point percentage to .441 which ranks second on Duke's all-time list.
Michael Gbinije
¨ Knocked down both three-pointers in the first half and collected his first career block and first career steal while playing a season-high 16 minutes.
¨ Carded a block, a steal and two assists.
Josh Hairston
¨ Scored a career-high 13 points and converted his first three-point play of the season.
¨ Converted a career-high seven free throws on nine attempts.
Ryan Kelly
¨ Sank a pair of three-pointers and pulled in six rebounds.
¨ Posted a block and a steal, giving him at least one block and steal in the same game six times this year.
Mason Plumlee
¨ Made his 33rd consecutive start. Duke is 28-5 during that 33-game streak.
¨ Moved into 10th place on Duke's career blocked shots list. With three blocks tonight, he moved past Chris Carrawell, who had 114 blocks.
¨ The three blocks – all in the first half – gave him multiple blocks for the sixth straight game.
Miles Plumlee
¨ Took part in his 99th career victory at Duke. Duke is 99-14 (.876) in games that Plumlee has played during his four-year career.
¨ Hauled in a career-high 15 rebounds, giving him back-to-back games with double-digit boards. Plumlee also had 13 rebounds in his last game versus UNC Greensboro. He had seven more rebounds than the next closest player (Western Michigan's Matt Stainbrook had eight rebounds).
¨ Set a career high with blocks, giving him a block in four straight games and multiple blocks for the third time this season. Plumlee has 11 blocks over his last four games. Also pulled in two steals, giving him 11 career games with two or more steals.
¨ Netted 20 points for his team-leading 11th double-figure scoring game and third 20-point effort.
¨ Sank a pair of three-pointers, giving him multiple treys in eight consecutive games.
¨ Went a career-best 4-for-4 from the three-point line on the way to a career-high 12 points.
