Sulaimon Signs National Letter of Intent

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced on Wednesday the signing of Rasheed Sulaimon to a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Blue Devils beginning in the fall of 2012.
A native of Houston, Texas (Strake Jesuit College Prep), Sulaimon is ranked as the No. 1 shooting guard in his class by Scout.com and ESPN and the fifth-best shooting guard by Rivals. He is the No. 10 overall prospect by Scout, No. 12 by ESPN and No. 32 by rivals. The Recruiting Services Consensus Index has Sulaimon ranked No. 17 overall.
Sulaimon, a 6-3, 175-pound guard, averaged 21.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game as a junior in 2010-11 while leading Strake Jesuit to a 26-4 record and the Texas District 19-5A Championship. He netted 20 or more points in 16 of his 30 games and reached double figures in all but one outing.
As a sophomore in 2009-10, he averaged 21.4 points 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals as Strake Jesuit finished 20-14.
Strake Jesuit enters the 2011-12 season ranked sixth in the TexasHoops.com Class 5A preseason rankings.
Sulaimon is coming off an outstanding summer that included impressive showings on the AAU circuit as well as the Deron Williams Skills Academy and NBA Players Association Camp. He ranked 10th in scoring at 12.2 points per game at the NBA Players Association camp which features many of the top prospects in the nation.
