Morgan, a product of Birmingham, Ala., earned a trip to this year's NCAA Championships with her sixth-place finish at last weekend's NCAA Southeast Regional in Louisville, Ky. The Duke junior clocked a personal-best 20:28.3 for 6K to earn All-Southeast Region honors for the second time in her career while leading the Blue Devil women to a fifth-place finish in the region. Morgan was also Duke's top performer at the 2011 ACC Championships in Clemson, S.C., where she crossed the finish line 11th overall to garner All-ACC recognition for the second time in her career.
At last year's NCAA Championships, Morgan was the No. 5 finisher for the Blue Devils, coming in 152nd place overall with a time of 21:45.1. She has been Duke's top performer in two races on the 2011-12 season, including a top-10 showing at the Penn State National Invitational on Oct. 14 in State College, Pa.
One of 38 individual qualifiers for the NCAA Championships, Morgan looks to run her best race of the season in a competitive field, which also includes 31 teams.
