Team Notes:
• The Blue Devils
improved to 26-15 all-time when playing at Madison Square Garden. Under Coach
K, Duke is 20-7 at the Garden. The Blue Devils have won 13 of their last 15
games at MSG.
• Duke has now won 31
consecutive games in the month of November. The Blue Devils are 111-10 in
November under Coach K.
• Duke hit a season-high
10 three-pointers, which are the most since February 2, 2011 when Duke hit 10.
• Duke shot 50.0 percent
(10-for-20) from three-point range for the game. That is the highest percentage
since the Blue Devils shot 50.0 percent (7-for-14) against NC State on February
5, 2011.
• The Blue Devils scored
30 of their 74 points off of three-pointers and 30 from free throws. Duke hit
30 free throws, the most since November 19, 2010 against Colgate. Only 14 of
Duke's 74 points came from shots inside the three-point line.
• Duke used the starting
lineup of Mason Plumlee, Miles Plumlee, Seth Curry, Andre Dawkins and Austin
Rivers for the third straight game. Those five have started every game this
season.
• Duke had three players
in double-figure scoring, marking the third time this season that at least three
players have scored 10 or more points.
• Andre Dawkins (26
points) and Seth Curry (20 points) became Duke's first 20-point scorers this
season.
• With a slim 41-40 lead
just under four minutes into the second half, Duke went on a 20-1 run to jump
out in front 61-41. Duke scored 12 consecutive points during that run, which
tied for the team's longest scoring run of the season.
• The Blue Devils have
won 26 of their last 28 non-conference contests. Duke is 45-6 in non-league
games since the start of the 2008-09 season and 454-69 against non-conference
teams under Coach K.
• The Blue Devils held
the Spartans to a .456 field goal percentage, marking the third time this
season that Duke has held its opponent under 50 percent shooting. Duke is
709-90 under Coach K when holding opponents under 50 percent from the floor.
Player Notes:
Seth Curry
• Started his 16th
consecutive game and played a career-high 38 minutes.
• Scored a season-high 20
points, giving him at least 10 points in every game this season. Was his fourth
career 20-point game.
• Hit two three-pointers,
giving him multiple treys in every game this season and a .727 (8-for-11) three-point
shooting percentage this season.
• Went 10-for-12 from
the free throw line, setting a career high in made free throws.
• Grabbed a career-high
seven rebounds.
• Dished out four assists,
giving him at least three helpers in every game this year.
Andre Dawkins
• Scored 26 points, the second highest total of his Duke career and the
most by a Duke player this season.
• Knocked down six three-pointers, which were the most by a Duke player
since March 5, 2011 when Seth Curry went 6-for-11 from three-point range in a
win over North Carolina.
• Scored 14 of Duke's 34 points in the first half. Went 4-for-6 from three-point
range in that half.
• Played a career-high 38 minutes.
• Has now made at least
one three in 33 of Duke's last 40 contests.
Ryan Kelly
• The first player off
Duke's bench for the third straight game.
• Scored in double
figures for the third straight game.
• Averaging 14.33 points
off the bench.
Mason Plumlee
• Started his 24th
consecutive game.
• Blocked three shots, tying a career high he
set in Duke's last game against Presbyterian (11/12/11).
• Went 1-for-3 from the
field and is now shooting 61.9 percent from the floor this season.
Miles Plumlee
• Started his ninth
consecutive game.
Austin Rivers
• Made his third
straight start.
