Sophomore Andre Dawkins scored a season-high 16 points for his eighth career double-figure scoring contest. He has scored 10 or more in two of the three games this season off the bench.
Dawkins made three treys to give him eight on the year. He has three or more in two games this season and in six career games.
He matched a career high with five made free throws, going 5-of-6 from the line. He also had five made attempts against Pennsylvania last season.
The three steals also matched a career best as he had three against Radford in his freshman campaign.
Freshman Kyrie Irving has scored in double figures in each of his first three collegiate games after posting 11 points against Colgate.
Irving had nine assists in the game with zero turnovers. It is the second time in his first three games he has recorded five or more assists as he now has 20 assists and just three turnovers in his first three games.
For the second time this season, Irving has made three three-point field goals.
Senior Nolan Smith leads the ACC with 13 straight double-figure scoring games. He has scored 10 or more points in 27 of the last 28 games for the Blue Devils.
Smith dished out a career-high nine assists to give him five or more in all three games this season. He has 11 career games with five or more assists. His previous career high was seven assists in three games, the last coming in Duke's last contest against Miami (Ohio).
In three games this season, Smith is averaging 7.3 assists per game.
With his steal, Smith became the 35th player in school history with 100 career steals.
