No. 6 Duke defeated Virginia, 86-70, on March 5, 2008, at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va. Duke improves to 26-3 overall and 13-2 in the ACC while the Cavaliers fall to 14-14 and 4-11, respectively.

- A total of five Blue Devils scored in double figures with Gerald Henderson scoring 19 followed by Kyle Singler with 18, DeMarcus Nelson with 16, Greg Paulus with 14 and Jon Scheyer with 10. That marks the 11th game this season Duke has had five or more score in double figures and Duke is 10-1 in those games. Duke has had five or more score in double figures in four of the last five games.
- Duke had 17 assists to just 11 turnovers, marking the 20th time this season and 11th time in ACC play that Duke has had more assists than turnovers. It's also the fourth straight game that feat has been accomplished.
- Duke's 86 points marks the 19th time this season the Blue Devils have surpassed the 80 point plateau and Duke is 18-1 in those games. Duke has scored 80 or more in 11 of the last 14 and is now 458-45 under Coach K when doing so.

- Coach K is now 801-264 all-time as a head coach and ranks sixth on the NCAA's win chart. He is also second among active coaches behind fifth-place Eddie Sutton, who has 803 victories. First overall on the wins list is Coach K's mentor, Bobby Knight, with 902 wins.
- With 801 career wins in his first 33 seasons, Coach K is currently second on the NCAA's list of most victories in a coaches' first 33 season. He trails Dean Smith, who had 802 wins through 33 seasons.
- Coach K now has a 728-205 record at Duke and is in sixth place on the NCAA chart for most wins at one school. Coach K is also second among active coaches behind Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (767). Fifth on the list is Western Kentucky's Ed Diddle with 759 wins.
DeMarcus Nelson
- The senior scored 16 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. He added four rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.
- Nelson now has 1,291 career points and passed Jack Marin (1964-66 ? 1,279) and moved into 35th on Duke's career scoring chart. Robert Brickey is 34th on the list with 1,299 points from 1987-90.
- Nelson now has 25 games scoring in double figures this season including 13 of the last 14, and 68 such games in his career.
- Nelson now has four or more rebounds in 27 of the 29 games this season.
- Nelson has now hit multiple three-pointers 11 times this season.

Kyle Singler
- The freshman scored 18 points and added eight rebounds in 32 minutes of action.
- Singler has reached double figures in a team-high 11 straight games and in 23 games overall this season.
- Singler now has 417 points this season and became the 12th player in Duke history to score 400 or more points as a freshman. He passed Grant Hill (1989-90) and Jon Scheyer (2006-07) who had 402 and Corey Maggette (1998-99) who had 414 points and he is in ninth place on the chart. Carlos Boozer ranks eighth with 443 points in 1999-2000.
- Singler's eight field goals gives him 147 and he now ranks 10th on the freshman chart. He passed Kenny Dennard (1977-78 ? 140) and is now immediately behind J.J. Redick (2002-03 ? 149) on the list.
- Singler now has a three pointer in 16 of the last 17 games.
Greg Paulus
- The junior scored 14 points, hitting 5-of-10 from the field and 4-of-7 from behind the arc. He added three assists, two rebounds, one steal and just one turnover in a team-high 33 minutes played.
- Paulus has now hit a three-pointer in 13 straight games, 28 of 29 games this season and 56 of his last 60 games.

- Scheyer has 18 games in double figures this season, including four of the last five and seven of the last nine games. A total of 17 of his 18 games in double figures have come off the bench this season, a figure that ranks fourth all-time at Duke. David Henderson had 24 such games in 1983-84, Corey Maggette had 19 in 1998-99 and Henderson had 18 in 1984-85.
- Scheyer has now hit 52-of-58 (.897) from the free throw line in the last 14 games.
- Scheyer has connected on 19-of-41 (.463) from behind the arc in road games this season.
