No. 7 Duke defeated Georgia Tech, 82-70, on March 14, 2008, at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, N.C., in the quarterfinals of the 2008 ACC Tournament. Duke improves to 27-4 overall while the Yellow Jackets fall to 15-17.

DeMarcus Nelson
- The senior scored 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out a career-high tying seven assists and had one steal and block in 33 minutes. He shot 7-of-13 from the field, 2-of-3 from behind the arc and 1-of-3 from the line.
- Nelson has reached double figures in scoring in 26 games this season and 69 of his career.
- Nelson now has 1,314 career points and moved into 33rd place on Duke's career scoring chart. He became the 34th player to reach the 1,300-point plateau. He passed Robert Brickey (1987-90 ? 1,299) and Tate Armstrong (1974-77, 1, 304). Immediately ahead is Joe Belmont, who scored 1,338 points from 1953-56.
- Nelson has played well on a neutral court this season. In five games, he is averaging 14.0 points per game and has shot 26-of-50 (.520). He also has averages of 6.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game, as well.

Greg Paulus

- Scheyer's 10 free throws and 11 attempts are both season highs and his 11 attempts matches his career high, as well. Last season at Miami on Jan. 14, he was 11-of-11 from the line. It's Scheyer's second career game with 10 or more.

Gerald Henderson
- The sophomore scored 12 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the field, 2-of-2 from behind the arc. He added four rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

Lance Thomas
- The sophomore scored 10 points, shooting 4-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line. He added five rebounds, all offensive, in 23 minutes.
- Thomas now has four games this season and seven such games in his career.
- Thomas now has 1,001 career minutes and he becomes the 73rd player in Duke history to record 1,000 or more career minutes.
