No. 7 Duke defeated Georgia Tech, 71-58, on February 27, 2008, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke improves to 24-3 overall and 11-2 in the ACC while the Yellow Jackets fall to 11-15 overall and 4-8 in the ACC.

- Duke held Georgia Tech to 23-of-61 (.377) shooting, the second straight game Duke has held its opponent to under 40 percent from the field.
- Duke held Georgia Tech to just three assists, the lowest total for a Duke opponent in nearly 27 years. Duke held North Carolina A&T to just two assists on March 12, 1981. The last ACC opponent to have three or fewer assists was Virginia on Feb. 9, 1977, over 31 years ago.
- Duke forced Georgia Tech into 20 turnovers, marking the 13th time this season that Duke has forced 20 or more turnovers.
- Duke recorded 14 steals, matching Duke's season high also accomplished against Maryland on Feb. 13. It marks the 15th game this season Duke has recorded 10 or more steals including the ninth time in 13 ACC games.
Coach K
- Coach K is now 799-264 as a head coach, ranking sixth on the NCAA wins chart and second among active coaches. Only Eddie Sutton, who is fifth overall and tops among active coaches with 801 wins, is ahead of him while first overall is Bob Knight with 902 wins.
- With 799 career wins in his first 33 seasons, Coach K is currently second on the NCAA's list of most victories in a coaches' first 33 season. He trails Dean Smith, who had 802 wins through 33 seasons.
- Coach K now has 799 wins in 1,063 career games and is looking to become the third-fastest coach to 800 wins based on number of games. Adolph Rupp (972) and Dean Smith (1,029) are already out of reach and Bob Knight is currently third, accomplishing the feat in 1,102 games.
- Coach K now has a 726-205 record at Duke and is in sixth place on the NCAA chart for most wins at one school. Coach K is also second among active coaches behind Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (767). Fifth on the list is Western Kentucky's Ed Diddle with 759 wins.
DeMarcus Nelson
- The senior had 15 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the field and 5-of-9 from the line, and added six rebounds, three assists and one steal with no turnovers in 31 minutes against the Yellow Jackets.
- Nelson now has 1,256 career points and passed Bernie Janacki (1952-54 ? 1,247) and moved into 37th place on Duke's career scoring chart. Chris Duhon (2001-04, 1,268) is 36th on the chart.
- Nelson now has 23 games scoring in double figures this season, including 11 of the last 12, and 66 such games in his career.
- Nelson now has 11 straight games with four or more rebounds and he has four or more in 26 of 27 games this season.
Kyle Singler
- The freshman scored 13 points, had seven rebounds, four steals and two assists in 38 minutes of action.
- Singler has scored in double figures in nine straight games and 21 games this season.
- Singler has hit a three-pointer in 15 straight games.
- Singler's four steals is a new season high.
Greg Paulus
- The junior scored 11 points, had four rebounds, three assists and three steals in 30 minutes against Georgia Tech.
- Paulus has hit a three-pointer in 11 straight games, 26 of 27 games this season and 54 of 58 games dating back to early in his sophomore campaign.
- Paulus has had three or more assists in three straight games and 10 of the last 12.
