No. 5 Duke defeated St. John's, 86-56, on February 23, 2008, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke improves to 23-3 overall while the Red Storm fall to 10-16.

- Duke's 23-3 record through 26 games marks the 11th time in program history Duke has been 23-3 or better through 26 games. Duke has been 25-1 twice, 24-2 five times and now 23-3 four times. Nine of the 11 seasons have come under Coach K.
- Coach K now has a 725-205 record at Duke and is now in sole possession of sixth place on the NCAA chart for most wins at one school. He moved out of a tie with DePaul's Ray Meyer. Coach K is also second among active coaches behind Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (767). Fifth on the list is Western Kentucky's Ed Diddle with 759 wins.
- Duke has now won 59 straight home games against non-conference opponents, the longest streak in the nation. Duke's last non-conference home loss was Feb. 26, 2000, to the Red Storm.

- Duke has sold out 272 consecutive games at Cameron Indoor Stadium dating back to a game with Boston College on Nov. 16, 1990. Overall, Duke has played in front of a sold out crowd in 228 of its last 267 games.
- Duke has hit a three-pointer in 645 consecutive games, the fourth-longest streak in the NCAA behind UNLV, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

- Duke's 30-point victory is the fourth 30-point victory for Duke this season.
- Duke's 38 bench points marks the fifth highest of the season and Duke had three players score in double figures off the bench, giving them 31 such performances on the season. Duke's 31 bench double figure games is tied for the fourth most all-time, along with the 1987-88 season. In 1990-91, Duke had 37 such games, in 1998-99, Duke had 38 games and in 1997-98, 47.
- Duke's three double figure scorers off the bench marks the 17th time in Duke history that three players have scored in double figures off the bench and just one game off the record of four set in the 2007-08 season opener against N.C. Central.
- Duke has scored 80 or more points 17 times this season, and Duke is now 16-1 in those games.
- Duke was 10-of-25 from behind the arc against St. John's, marking the fifth time in the last seven games Duke has hit 10 or more threes. Duke has hit 10 or more threes in 12 games this season.
Duke Defense
- Duke held St. John's to 56 points, tied for the second-lowest total among Duke's opponents this season. Duke held Eastern Kentucky to 43 points and N.C. Central scored 56 points, as well. It marked the fifth game this season Duke has held its opponent to under 60 points.
- Duke held St. John's to just 20 field goals, tied for the second lowest by a Duke opponent this season.
- St. John's 33.3 field goal percentage (20-of-60) is the second-lowest total by a Duke opponent this season.
- Duke held St. John's to just 3-of-13 from behind the arc. Duke has now held nine of its opponent to three or fewer threes this season.
- Duke forced 18 turnovers and allowed just 12 assists, marking the 23rd time in 26 games that has happened.

Coach K
- Coach K is now 798-264 as a head coach, ranking sixth on the NCAA wins chart and second among active coaches. Only Eddie Sutton, who is fifth overall and tops among active coaches with 801 wins, is ahead of him while first overall is Bob Knight with 902 wins.
- With 798 career wins in his first 33 seasons, Coach K is currently second on the NCAA's list of most victories in a coaches' first 33 season. He trails Dean Smith, who had 802 wins through 33 seasons.
- Coach K now has 798 wins in 1,062 career games and is looking to become the third-fastest coach to 800 wins based on number of games. Adolph Rupp (972) and Dean Smith (1,029) are already out of reach and Bob Knight is currently third, accomplishing the feat in 1,102 games.
Brian Zoubek
- The sophomore scored 11 points, had a career-high 13 rebounds and added one assist and one block in 20 minutes of action.
- Zoubek recorded his first career double-double, his first 10-plus rebound game and his second game scoring in double figures this season.
DeMarcus Nelson
- The senior had nine points, shooting 4-of-5 from the field, 1-of-2 from behind the arc, and added four rebounds, two assists and one steal and block.
- Nelson failed to reach double figures for the first time in the last 11 games.
- Nelson now has 10 straight games with four or more rebounds and he has four or more in 25 of 26 games this season.
Nolan Smith
- The freshman had 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 25 minutes of action. He shot 2-of-4 from long distance and 3-of-4 from the line.
- Smith's five assists is a season high.
- Smith has scored in double figures five times this season, including twice in the last three games.
- Smith is the second Duke player this year (DeMarcus Nelson twice) to score in double figures and have five or more rebounds and assists in a game.
Kyle Singler
- The freshman scored a team-high 16 points, shooting 7-of-15 from the field, 2-of-6 from behind the arc, and added six rebounds and two blocks.
- Singler has now hit a three in 14 straight games.
- Singler reached double figures for the eighth straight game and 20th overall this season.
Greg Paulus
- The junior scored six points, hitting 2-of-5 from behind the arc, and he added three assists.
- Paulus has hit a three pointer in 10 straight games, 25 of 26 games this season and 53 of 57 games dating back to early in his sophomore campaign.
- Paulus has had three or more assists in two straight games and nine of the last 11 games.
Jon Scheyer
- The sophomore scored 12 points in his first start, shooting 3-of-6 from the field, 2-of-4 from behind the arc and 4-of-5 from the line. He added three assists and three steals with no turnovers.
- Scheyer now has 16 games scoring in double figures for Duke this season and 38 such games in his career.
- Scheyer has had two or more assists in eight straight games.
Gerald Henderson
- The sophomore scored 13 points off the bench, hitting on 5-of-9 from the field, and added two rebounds and two blocks in 23 minutes.
- Henderson scored in double figures for the 18th time this season including the first time in the last five games.
