Series Notes
- Sunday marks the 231st meeting between Duke and Wake Forest dating back to Duke's first-ever game in 1905-06. Duke and Wake Forest have faced each other more than any other series in ACC history.

- Nolan Smith scored 21 points becoming the seventh Blue Devil to score 20 or more points this season. That matches the 1973-74 season for the most players to score 20 or more points in a season in school history.
- Smith's 20 point game also gives the Blue Devils five 20 point games off the bench and three different players with a 20 point bench performance, both the most in Duke history. Both Taylor King and Jon Scheyer have two 20 point games this season. Duke had four 20 point bench performances in 1983-84, 1990-91 and 1998-99, and it is the second time three different players had 20 points off the bench as it also happened in 2002-03 when Dahntay Jones, J.J. Redick and Shavlik Randolph each had one 20 point game off the bench.

- Duke had five players foul out matching the most in school history and it was the first time in school history that all five starters fouled out. Duke has now had five players foul out five times, including twice at Wake Forest (the other was Feb. 13, 2003). It was the third time under Coach K that five players fouled out (at Maryland, Feb. 12, 2005). The other two times were against North Carolina on March 1, 1957, and against the Tar Heels on March 11, 1967, in the ACC Tournament.
- Wake Forest snapped Duke's 12 game win streak, it was the third longest in the NCAA.
- Duke suffered its first road loss of the year and is now 6-1 on the road.
- Duke has played in front of a sold out crowd in 227 of its last 265 games.
- Duke has hit a three-pointer in 643 consecutive games, the fourth longest streak in the NCAA behind UNVL, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

Nolan Smith
- The freshman scored a season high 21 points, hitting 8-of-12 from the field, 2-of-5 from long distance, and 3-of-4 from the line. He added three rebounds and a steal in just 18 minutes of action.
- Smith recorded his first career 20 point game and t was his fifth game in double figures.
