No. 2 Duke defeated Maryland, 77-65, on February 13, 2008, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke improves to 22-1 overall and 10-0 in the ACC while the Terrapins fall to 16-9 and 6-4, respectively.
Series Notes
- Duke now leads the series with Maryland, 103-60, dating back to 1925-26. Duke is 89-50 in ACC regular season play against the Terps and 50-16 at home, including 48-14 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke is now 44-20 against Maryland under coach Mike Krzyzewski.
- Duke has now won two straight in the series after sweeping the regular season series.
Milestones
- Duke's 22-1 record through 23 games matches the best in school history and is just the fourth time Duke has been 22-1 along with similar starts in the 1998-99, 2001-02 and 2005-06 seasons.
- Duke's 10-0 record through 10 ACC games marks the sixth time in school history Duke has started 10-0 in the league, along with the 1962-63, 1963-64, 1998-99, 2003-04 and 2005-06 season.

- Coach K now has a 724-203 record at Duke and the 724 wins is now tied for sixth most in NCAA history at one school. He is currently tied with Ray Meyer, who had 724 wins at DePaul. Coach K is also second among active coaches behind Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (766). Fifth on the list is Western Kentucky's Ed Diddle with 759 wins.
- In 868 games at Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke is now 720-148 all-time. Coach K won his 360th game at Cameron in 413 career games, meaning Coach K has coached Duke to exactly half of its wins in the building in its history.
Streaks & Records
- Duke has won a season high 12 straight games overall and all 10 of its ACC games. Duke's double-digit win streak is the 35th in school history and 21st under Coach K. There have been 23 win streaks of 12 games or more in school history and 14 under Coach K.
- Duke has won 13 straight games at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
- Duke has sold out 271 consecutive games at Cameron Indoor Stadium dating back to a game with Boston College on Nov. 16, 1990. Overall, Duke has played in front of a sold out crowd in 226 of its last 264 games.
- Duke has hit a three-pointer in 642 consecutive games, the fourth-longest streak in the NCAA behind UNLV, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

- Duke had a season-high 14 steals against the Terps Wednesday.
- Duke's Kyle Singler connected on 10 field goals against the Terps. That ties both the Duke individual season high and the Maryland opponent individual season high. DeMarcus Nelson hit 10 field goals against Maryland in the team's first match-up.
- Singler's six made three-pointers also ties both the Duke individual season high and the Maryland opponent individual season high.
- Gerald Henderson's five steals is the most by a Blue Devil this season.
Duke Offense
- Duke shot 12-of-25 from three point range and 11-of-33 from inside the arc against Maryland, marking just the 11th time in Duke history that the Blue Devils have hit more three-point field goals than two-point field goals. The last time it happened was Feb. 19, 2006, against Miami when Duke shot 13-of-23 from three and 12-of-28 from inside the arc.
- Duke outscored Maryland 41-30 in the first half, marking the 17th time in 23 games Duke has scored 40-plus in the first half, including three straight. Duke's 11-point lead at the break marked the 13th time Duke has led by double digits at the break and also the 20th time in 23 games overall that the Blue Devils have led at halftime.
- Duke had just 13 turnovers against Maryland, staying on their ACC best (lowest) total of 13.3 per game.
- Duke had 15 assists against those 13 turnovers marking the 15th time this season, include each of the last five games, that Duke has had more assists than turnovers.
- Duke connected on 12-of-25 from behind the arc, marking the 10th time this season Duke has hit 10 or more three-pointers. Duke is 10-0 in those games and 120-29 all-time when that feat has been accomplished.
- With Singler's 26 points and Paulus' 20, Duke has had a pair of 20-point scorers now three times this season.
Duke Defense
- Duke had a season-high 14 steals against Maryland, marking the eighth time in 10 ACC games the Blue Devils have recorded 10 or more steals. Duke is averaging 10.7 steals per game in ACC action.
- Duke is leading the ACC in forced turnovers per game in ACC play at 19.3 and was right on that mark forcing 19 from Maryland.
- Maryland shot 27-of-66 (.409) from the field against Duke, marking the 19th time in 23 games this season that Duke's opponent has been held under 50 percent from the field.
- Duke held Maryland to just 3-of-13 (.231) from behind the arc. Duke had held ACC opponent to four or fewer triples in nine of the 10 conference games and Duke's opponents are a combined 37-of-127 (.291) on the season.
Coach K
- Coach K is now 797-262 as a head coach, ranking sixth on the NCAA wins chart and second among active coaches. Only Eddie Sutton, who is fifth overall and tops among active coaches with 800 wins, is ahead of him while first overall is Bob Knight with 902 wins.
- With 797 career wins in his first 33 seasons, Coach K is currently second on the NCAA's list of most victories in a coaches' first 33 season. He trails Dean Smith, who had 802 wins through 33 seasons.
- Coach K now has 797 wins in 1,059 career games and is looking to become the third-fastest coach to 800 wins based on number of games. Adolph Rupp (972) and Dean Smith (1,029) are already out of reach and Bob Knight is currently third, accomplishing the feat in 1,102 games.
- The senior had 12 points, five rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block in 35 minutes of action against Maryland.
- Nelson now has 20 games this season scoring in double figures, including eight straight and 15 of the last 16, and 63 such games in his career.
- Nelson now has eight games with three or more steals this season and 17 such games in his career.
