DURHAM, N.C. -- After locking up at least a share of the 2008 ACC Championship last Tuesday, the Duke volleyball team will hear its NCAA Tournament seeding and location this Sunday, Nov. 30, during the NCAA Volleyball Selection Show.
The live broadcast will air at 10 p.m. on ESPNU.
Last season, Duke hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Cameron Indoor Stadium and defeated American 3-2 before falling to seventh-ranked Cal in the second round. The Blue Devils (24-8, 15-5 ACC) have made it to the tournament in each of the last three seasons and have an excellent shot at making it four in a row in 2008.
The 2008 NCAA Tournament first and second rounds will take place on Dec. 3-4 at various sites around the country. Those who advance to the Regional round will play on Dec. 12-13 at one of four sites, including Colorado State, Penn State, Texas or Washington, depending on their seeding in the first two rounds. The 2008 NCAA Volleyball Semifinals and Championship will be played on Dec. 18 and Dec. 20 at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska, home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Duke has at least a share of the 2008 ACC Championship and awaits the result of this afternoon's ACC match between North Carolina and NC State, which begins at 1 p.m. North Carolina is currently one half game behind Duke in the standings, but could claim the other half of the championship and the ACC's autmoatic tournament bid with a win over the Wolfpack.
