Hausfeld Tabbed Academic All-America

DURHAM, N.C. ? Duke volleyball senior Ali Hausfeld was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Second Team, the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) announced Tuesday.
This is the second Academic All-America recognition for Hausfeld, who collected third-team honors as a junior in 2006. Hausfeld, a biology major who boasts a 3.4 GPA at Duke, was also named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team this season and plans to attend medical school after graduation.
A 6-0 setter from Springboro, Ohio (Archbishop Alter), Hausfeld has also excelled on the court and leads the ACC in assists per game with a 14.23 average while ranking among the top-three in the nation in the same category. A three-time AVCA All-America honorable mention selection, Hausfeld earned her third straight All-ACC first team selection this season after leading the Blue Devils to a second-place conference finish and their third straight berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Hausfeld will look to lead Duke deep into postseason play as the Blue Devils open with Patriot League champion American on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
