DURHAM, N.C. ? The Duke volleyball team recorded their third straight shutout Saturday night, defeating Boston College, 3-0 (30-22, 30-25, 30-28), in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils improve to 18-7 overall and 12-5 in the ACC, while Boston College falls to 7-20 overall and 2-16 in the conference.
Duke's third straight shutout comes after Sunday's 3-0 victory over N.C. State and last night's 3-0 rout of No. 24 Maryland.
Sophomore Ali Hausfeld led the way for Duke, recording her 13th double-double of the season with 40 assists and 11 digs. Freshman Jourdan Norman posted a team-high 13 kills, senior Samantha Fisher recorded 10 kills, junior Tealle Hunkus had seven kills and senior Sarah Salem added six kills for the Blue Devils.
The Duke defense was anchored by sophomore Jenny Shull, who had a team-high 19 digs. Salem posted 13 digs, Hunkus registered 11 digs and sophomore Carrie DeMange added 10 digs in the win. Norman posted six blocks while freshman Susanna Carls added four block assists for Duke.
The Blue Devils will travel to Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest (16-10, 9-8 ACC) on Tuesday night. Duke defeated the Demon Deacons, 3-0, on Oct. 4 in the first meeting between the two teams this season. Wake Forest is coming off a 3-2 win over Maryland on Saturday.
