Cila Named to Soccer America All-Freshman Team

DURHAM, N.C. (January 31) - Soccer America released its All-Freshman team for the 2000
season, and Duke forward Jordan Cila (Jericho, N.Y.) was among those named
to the team. Cila tallied 13 goals in his freshman campaign, placing him
second on Duke's all-time freshman scoring list. Additionally, his 35
points ranked seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference and third on Duke's
all-time freshman points list. Five of Cila's 13 goals were game-winning
goals.
In three years of varsity soccer at Jericho High School, Cila notched 67 goals, 40 assists, and three team MVP honors. Because of commitments with the United States U-17 National Team, he did not compete in his senior season. He finished his time with the U-17's ranked second in goals (46) and assists (38).
Soccer America also released the men's soccer national attendance figures, and Duke once again ranked highly. The Blue Devils finished seventh in the nation with an average attendance of 1,549. Wake Forest led the ACC with an average of 2,278 and third place on the national list.
