Assistant Coach Shannon Daley has been a mainstay for the program, entering her 5th year working with the Blue Devils. Coach Daley works hand-in-hand with Head Coach Robyn Horner in strategizing and developing the technical program for the season. In the past, Daley's primary responsibility was the incoming freshman and the novice program. However, due to her increased role in identifying and developing athletes to move up within the program, Coach Daley will be the varsity assistant in the 2002-2003 season.

Daley's previous accomplishments include placing first in the petite final at the Central Regional Sprints with both her 2001 and 2002 freshman crews. Her 2001 squad additionally won the trophy for the 2nd novice 8+ event and placed 1st at the Southern Intercollegiate Sprints.

Daley came to Duke after leading Union College to its most successful stint in the program's history. While pursuing her MBA at Union College, Daley coached both the varsity and novice women to top New York State finishes and their first 8+ invite to the Champion regatta.
