Upcoming Event: Track & Field at Mt. SAC Relays on April 15, 2026

It didn’t take long for Ko to realize her strengths lie in the longer distances—as the freshman moved up in distance, her finishing places continued to improve. Ko’s top performance came at the Stanford Invitational where she ran 36:19.09 for 10,000-meters after going through the first 5,000-meters in a near personal best time of 17:55. Ko’s 10,000-meters performance qualified her for the ECAC Outdoor Championships, where she finished a strong 10th against the East’s top distance runners. Ko also experimented with a new event in the outdoor season, the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and it paid off as she broke the school record at the Duke Invitational in a time of 11:12.20. Ko later went on to finish eighth at the ACC Outdoor Championships in the 3,000-meter barrier event against many of the nation’s top steeplers. As a prep, Ko was the 2000 Utah State 4A Champion at 3,200-meters and the 1999 Utah State 4A State Cross Country Champion.
