Sophomore: Became only the second javelin thrower in Duke history to surpass 200 feet with the “new” javelin when he threw 203’-06” at the Duke Invitational, qualifying him for the NCAA regional championships ... backed up that huge throw two weeks later with a toss of 202’-7” to place fourth at the ACC Championships, missing All-ACC honors by one place ... in all had five meets in 2006 over the IC4A qualifying mark of 190’-3” ... for his season Mark captured the Rod Stewart Award for Duke’s top field event performer ...
Freshman: Posted the third-best all-time performance at Duke in the javelin with a throw of 189’-10” to place third at the Duke Twilight ... scored for the Blue Devils in his first ACC Championship when he placed sixth with a throw of 185’-05” ... placed fifth at the Raleigh Relays with a throw of 186’-10.”
