A two-time All-East selection, Fowler heads into his senior year as one of several talented Blue Devil half-milers capable of venturing close to the 1:50 barrier.He first made a splash as a freshmanwhen pressed into service for the IC4A indoor DMR finals when an ill teammate was unable to compete.Fowler responded with a 1:54 split for the 800 leg and picked up his first All-East title. As a sophomore Fowler qualified individually for IC4A’s with a 1:54.32, then lowered his best outdoors to 1:53.06.As a junior Fowler ran lead-off on the Duke 4X800-meter relay twice, first on the fourth place finish at the Raleigh Relays and again on the IC4A trial round team, where he ran a 1:54.1 to start a 7:34.54 effort that advanced to the finals.
