Tatijana Jacobson enters her fourth season as an assistant coach of track & field (jumps).
Under her tutelage, the 2024 campaign saw Jacobson’s athletes earn 10 All-ACC accolades and turn in eight top-five program marks – six by Ezra Mellinger – across the indoor and outdoor seasons, including school records in the men’s indoor 200m dash and the women’s outdoor triple jump courtesy of Mellinger and Tia Rozario. Four athletes would culminate their seasons with NCAA competition as Beau Allen, Mellinger, Addie Renner and Rozario qualified for the NCAA East Regional.
In 2023, Jacobson aided Mellinger to NCAA East Regional qualification, while coaching Chinenye Agina and Allen to All-America status in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Agina earned a spot on the second team while Allen received Honorable Mention status. The Blue Devils totaled five top-five program marks – headlined by Brianna Smith’s school record in the indoor high jump – and seven All-ACC selections during the indoor and outdoor campaigns.
In her first season with the Blue Devils, Jacobson coached Smith to the gold medal and All-ACC First Team honors at the ACC Indoor Championships. During the outdoor campaign, she aided Allen to the silver medal and All-ACC First Team honors in the high jump at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Both Allen and Smith qualified for the NCAA East Regional.
Jacobson joined the Blue Devils after spending the 2020-21 season as the jumps & multis coach at Arizona. During her time at Arizona, she oversaw heptathlete Skylar Sieben, who finished fourth in the event at the Pac-12 Championship and reached the NCAA Outdoor Championship for the first time, finishing 21st.
Prior to her tenure at Arizona, she spent the indoor season at Central Michigan before the outdoor season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before that, Jacobson spent four years at Georgia, where she was also the jumps & multis coach. During her time in Athens, the Bulldogs tallied two national team championships and 12 top-six finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, including two national runners-up and 10 top-four podium finishes. Jacobson played a role in the development of student-athletes like Keturah Orji, who would set American and collegiate records in the triple jump and place fourth in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jacobson also spent 2013-15 as a volunteer assistant at North Carolina.
She is a 2013 graduate of Eastern Michigan, where she was an All-MAC high jumper.
