Scott Still begins his third year as Duke's assistant coach. Still's is responsible for overseeing the men's and women's pole vault program.
In only his first year, Still made an immediate impact at Duke as two of his vaulters, Jillian Schwartz and Seth Benson, set Duke school records during the 2000 season. Schwartz earned All-America honors three times and has qualified for three NCAA Championships, taking second place in 2001 and third in 2000. She has also won five ECAC championships and set the women's school and ACC record. With a career-best of 16-9 ½, Benson continued to establish records on the men's side, earning five All-East and two ACC runner-up finishes, and the IC4A title in 2001.
A 1987 graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in business, Still joined the United States Marine Corps upon graduation. He spent five years as a Marine Corps officer before starting his own business, Aladdyn Entertainment.
The Hersey, Pa. Native brings with him over 10 years of pole vault experience as he coached for three years in the elite skydivers pole vault camp that included area high school and collegians. Still also competed for two years at Maryland in the pole vault and his career-best collegiate vault was 16-1. Still also competed four years in pole vault while in high school.
Still is single and resides in Durham.
