Daniel Graber joined the Blue Devils' staff, in July, from Dartmouth College where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.Â
Â
"I am ecstatic to be joining this staff," Graber said. "Brian has a great vision for this program that I am eager to support with my experience and knowledge. I am looking forward to seeing this program grow and can't wait to get to work!"
Â
Prior to joining the Blue Devils' staff, Graber helped guide the Dartmouth Big Green student-athletes to six school records and set 75 all-time top-10 performances. Last season, Graber led all dryland workouts for the Big Green, collaborating with the weight staff to create a season plan for individual athletes to gain appropriate swim strength.
Â
"I am pleased to announce Daniel to the Duke Swimming and Diving family," Barnes said. "I am excited as we are continuing to surround these student athletes with highly motivated, ambitious, enthusiastic, and hard-working coaches. During this process I quickly learned that Daniel is organized, willing to learn and most importantly has the integrity and character that swimmers and divers at Duke University deserve from a coach. Daniel is a huge addition to our staff, and I can't wait to work with him."
Â
Along with his coaching experience at Dartmouth, Graber spent time as an assistant coach at Virginia Tech, helping coach the mid-distance and sprint groups throughout the year. Under his guidance, the Hokies achieved 18 school records, including eight relay records in the pool. On the men's side, the Hokies scored the most points in program history at NCAA's resulting in a program record 11th-place finish.Â
Â
A 2019 graduate of NC State University, Graber was a three-time NCAA All-American and four-time CSCAA Scholar All-American. He was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll all four years and holds two ACC records in the pool.Â
