Brad Sparling is in his third season at Duke, and is the associate head golf coach.
Over the last two years, Sparling has helped guide the men’s program to its first ACC Championship title since 1966 and its best NCAA Championship finish in 43 years. The men’s program has also finished each of the last two seasons ranked as one of the Top 10 teams in the nation (Golfweek and Golfstat rankings), a program first. Duke Men’s Golf is the only team in the ACC to make the final cut in the NCAA Championship over the last two seasons.
Prior to being promoted to Associate Head Coach in January of 2006, Sparling was the assistant coach for both the men's and women's golf teams where he assisted in recruiting, player development and day to day operations of the programs. During this two year period, the Women’s Golf team won two NCAA National Championships as well as two ACC Championships.
Sparling's current duties include recruiting, player development, organizing and conducting team practices, coaching, alumni development and day-to-day operations of the program. He is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America.

From 2001-2004, Sparling was a golf professional at the Duke University Golf Club. During his tenure, Sparling supervised daily golf operations and was an accomplished teaching professional. In addition, he enjoyed tournament success in numerous professional events.
Prior to his appointment at the Duke University Golf Club, Sparling enjoyed a successful business career, including experience as a Business Owner, Financial Consultant and Director of Finance.
Sparling played his collegiate golf at Guilford College, where he earned a degree in economics. He is also a graduate of Durham Academy.
Sparling resides in Chapel Hill with his wife, Suzie, and their three children, Jack, Nicholas and Emma.
