Edwards ran 18:17 while challenging the Virginia 5,000m cross country course. She redshirted indoor track and saw limited action outdoors, but ran 17:37.77 in the outdoor 5,000m at the Stanford Invitational.

Freshmen
Edwards finished fifth at the ECAC Cross Country Championships and eleventh at the U.S. Junior Cross Country Championships. She qualified for the ECAC Championships over 3,000m and 5,000m.

Edwards is the 2001 Oregon 4A state champion at 3,000m and the 1999 Oregon State and Border Clash Champion in cross country.
