Shannon Smith enters her first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Duke. Smith's primary responsibilities will be assisting the men's and women's middle and long distance.
As an undergraduate at Boston College, Smith won the 3,000m at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Smith is currently a third-year law school student at Duke University.
