GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team was announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The 51-member team was voted on by the nine league institutions as decided by the league's 50th Anniversary Committee.
North Carolina led all league schools with 13 members on the Golden Anniversary team while Clemson was second with ten honorees. Virginia had seven players selected, followed by Georgia Tech (5), Florida State, Maryland and NC State (4), Wake Forest (3) and Duke with one.
Former Duke Outdoor Track standout, Ellen Reynolds, was named to the 50th anniversary team. Reynolds was a two-time All-America in the 10,000 meters from 1993-1996. She still holds one of the top 10 best times in NCAA history.
