- The win in 2018 was Duke’s first over Virginia since 2005 and only the seventh in program history.
Last Time Out
- Duke picked up wins from all four Finesilver brothers, but came up just short in a 21-17 setback to Appalachian State Thursday night. Zach Finesilver led the way with a first-period pin, while Matt Finesilver turned in a strong performance at 174. Mitch did his usual thing and posted his 24th win of the year. Josh rebounded after a consecutive losses to resume his winning ways.
- Arien Leigh made his Duke debut at 125 and turned in a solid performance in getting to his offense. Araad Fisher continues to show improvement at heavyweight as he regularly battles wrestlers who easily outweight him.

- Mitch Finesilver and redshirt senior Jacob Kasper notched technical falls to lead the Blue Devils to a thrilling 19-16 win over Virginia last year in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils won five bouts overall in the dual, with the bonus points being the difference for Duke.

- Duke looks to bounce back after a narrow loss to Appalachian State Thursday night The Blue Devils were one win shy of earning the victory.
- Sixth-ranked Mitch Finesilver paces the Blue Devils with a 24-3 overall record and remains unbeaten in duals. Matt Finesilver jumped up a spot to No. 16 this week and sports a 20-6 mark. Zach Finesilver, after missing the early portion of the campaign to an off-season injury, is 4-4 in his duals and posted a pin against the Mountaineers. Josh Finesilver (141) is 4-4 in duals, 16-10 overall and aims to pick up a win over a tough Sam Krivus.
- At 157 pounds, Benjamin Anderson has provided some solid performances after placing eighth at the Southern Scuffle. He is 2-4 in his six duals. At the Southern Scuffle he upset the No. 6 seed to start the tournament and advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to eventual finalist Bo Pipher of Penn State. It was his first tournament in a Duke singlet. He is 5-7 overall on the year and looks to stop his two-match losing streak.
- At 184 pounds, Kaden Russell has taken big strides and is 16-10 on the year and took third at the Keystone Classic and just missed placing at the Southern Scuffle.
About Virginia
- Virginia is in search of its first ACC win after setbacks to NC State and North Carolina. The Cavaliers also lost to Virginia Tech in a non-conference dual. They are ranked 23rd overall and sport an 11-8 record.
