In spring 2014, Duke students led a project to reduce wasteful printing on campus, which resulted in Duke Student Government passing a resolution to institute a 1,000 page limit per semester on free printing for students. The new quota proved successful, leading to a 24% reduction in undergraduate printing in fall 2014.
The Iron Dukes office wants to follow in the steps of these innovative Duke students and reduce the amount of paper we are using. This summer, we are going green and moving toward an electronic communication system which will decrease the amount of paper we are generating from our office.
Going paperless has a myriad of benefits for our donors beyond better environmental stewardship. In most cases, it is much easier and more convenient for Iron Dukes members to process their pledges and payments, access benefit information and stay informed using our online system. Plus, by going paperless, we can reduce our budget by eliminating most print materials and help our Duke student-athletes by investing those savings in their education and sport.

Beginning July 1st our primary means of communicating to Iron Dukes members will be via email. The following items will be sent electronically:
With this new paperless initiative Iron Dukes members can enjoy easy access to make pledges and payments anytime and from anywhere by simply visiting https://www.gifts.duke.edu/athletics.
To stay informed and up-to-date on Iron Dukes happenings, we encourage all Iron Dukes members to check email regularly and confirm we have an accurate email on file. To confirm your email address or opt out of any component of the paperless initiative give the Iron Dukes office a call at 919-613-7575 or send an email to irondukes@duaa.duke.edu.
