INDIANAPOLIS, Ind -- Talent wasn’t going to be the issue for the 2014-15 edition of the Duke men’s basketball program. However, given the transient nature of the sport, and the team’s inevitable reliance on newcomers for significant contributions, team chemistry was hardly a given.
Several months later, it seems preposterous that the team’s ability to coalesce into a tightly-knit unit was ever a question at all.
Led by the team’s lone scholarship senior,
Quinn Cook, Duke has taken one of humanity’s more traditional greetings, the handshake, and turned it into a symbol of the group’s inseparability.
The Blue Devil Network sat down with several members of the team to discuss the origin of the custom handshakes they share with one another and their significance to the players.
Stay tuned to GoDuke.com throughout the week for a closer look behind the scenes of the program as it fights for a fifth national championship.
