El Paso, Texas – It’s bowl season in El Paso. Monday afternoon the Duke football team landed in the Sun City to begin 2014 Sun Bowl preparations. It is the first time in program history the Blue Devils have played in three consecutive bowl games.
Duke departed from campus around noon ET to head to Raleigh-Durham International Airport for its charter flight on a Delta 747 to El Paso. Upon arriving in El Paso around 5 p.m. MT, a welcome party greeted the Blue Devils at El Paso International Airport.
Mariachi musicians and Folklorico dancers provided entertainment for the team, which joined in with the groups for dancing and singing. Bowl and El Paso representatives were on hand to greet the Blue Devils, as well as local El Paso media to talk with Duke for the first time.
