Durham, N.C. - After practicing for over two hours on Thursday evening, the Blue Devils football team was back on the practice field for another session Friday morning.
For the second straight day the Duke squad was in shorts and helmets as they continued to practice at a quick pace installing offensive and defensive schemes while focusing on fundamentals.
The first two practices have gone well for the Blue Devils with the newcomers receiving additional work at the end of practice. The final periods have been spent working primarily with the freshmen and sophomores, giving them an opportunity to receive more snaps.
The Blue Devils are practicing on their new 100-yard field turf practice field. Other improvements to the football facilities this summer have included new restrooms and concessions at Wallace Wade Stadium and the addition of the Brooks Football Building next to the practice field which will give Duke a training room and meeting space to use during practice sessions.
