DURHAM, N.C. - GoDuke.com sat down with freshman cornerback Ross Cockrell on Thursday to talk about what track and field events he competed in during high school and what former Michigan star was his favorite college player.

GoDuke.com: Why Did You Choose Duke?
Ross Cockrell: It is a great school and Coach Cutcliffe is going to turn things around and I wanted to be a part of something special.
GD: Any Brothers or Sisters?
RC: I have two younger sisters that are 13 and 12.
GD: What number did you wear in high school?
RC: I wore No. 2 in high school because my favorite college player was Charles Woodson.
GD: What sport would you play besides football?
RC: I would probably run track. I ran the 100m, 200m and 400m in high school.
GD: What was your favorite NFL team and player growing up?
RC: My favorite NFL team was the Colts and my favorite player was Edgerrin James
GD: What websites do you visit most?
RC: Facebook and ESPN are the two ones I go to the most and checking my Duke email.
GD: What do you like to do outside of football?
RC: Play video games and play some cards.
GD: Who is your roommate this year?
RC: Anthony Young-Wiseman
GD: After football what job would you like to have?
RC: I don't know but I might go into banking like my dad.
GD: Any other talents?
RC: I am a pretty good checkers player.
