DUKE MOURNS LOSS OF DENHAM
Over the past week, the Duke Football family has mourned the loss of former linebacker Kyle Denham, who tragically died on Sunday, June 11 in a car accident in Chatham (N.C.) County ... He was 25 ... Services will be held on Saturday, June 17 at Bethel A.M.E. Church at 5050 St. Antoine in Detroit, Mich., beginning at 9 a.m. ... In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kyle Alan Denham Scholarship Fund at University Liggett School (1045 Cook Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. 48236) ... TALLEY EARNS PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA HONORS
John Talley headlines Duke’s preseason honorees as the senior cornerback has been named first team All-America by The Sporting News ... Talley, who enters the 2006 season as the nation’s active leader in interceptions with 11, also was charted by TSN as the nation’s top cornerback and is a first team All-ACC selection by The Sporting News, Athlon, Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook and Lindy’s ... Other Duke players to receive preseason recognition were Chris Davis (3rd Team All-ACC by Lindy’s) and Michael Tauiliili (3rd Team All-ACC by Lindy’s).

The 2006 home slate features games with Richmond, Virginia, Florida State, Miami, Vanderbilt, Navy and North Carolina ... John Talley is one of four returning first team all-conference defensive backs from BCS conferences in 2006 ... The Duncan, S.C., native is joined on the list by Darrell Revis of Pittsburgh, LaRon Landry of LSU and Daymeion Hughes of California.
DRUMMER’S BIG PLAYS
Junior Ronnie Drummer joins Felix Jones of Arkansas as the only two active players in the nation with both a run from scrimmage of 80 or more yards and a 100-yard kickoff return to his credit ... Drummer posted a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in last year’s season-opening game at East Carolina and added an 81-yard rush for a score at Miami.
FARMER TO KANSAS CITY
Ray Farmer, an All-America safety at Duke in the mid-1990s, has been named the Director of Pro Personnel for the Kansas City Chiefs ... Farmer spent the last four seasons as a scout for the Atlanta Falcons.
KICKOFF TIMES
Kickoff times have been established for Duke’s first three games ? Richmond (September 2; 6 p.m.), Wake Forest (September 9; 12 noon) and Virginia Tech (September 16; 12 noon) ...
