Broadway Named To 2000 CPL All-Star Team
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 6) The Coastal Plain League announced Thursday that Duke
University's Larry Broadway has been selected to play in the Second Annual
CPL All-Star Game in Wilson, NC.
Broadway, a 6-foot-3, 200 pound first baseman was selected to start as a designated hitter and a representative of the Outer Banks Daredevils, a member of the Northern Division. In 23 games, Broadway is batting .277 with four home runs, 17 runs batted in and ten runs scored.
The Wilson Tobs, in conjunction with the CPL, will host the summer classic at 7:35 PM at historic Fleming Stadium on July 11th. HTS will re-broadcast the game three times on tape delay with exact air-times to be announced.
The Coastal Plain League is a collegiate summer baseball league, with rosters comprised of outstanding college players from across the country, seeking to sharpen their skills while showcasing their talents for pro scouts. The league uses wood bats exclusively, giving hitters a head start on their professional careers, while also providing fans with a more traditional sounding game. Each club provides a great night of affordable family entertainment at the ballpark. Tickets are inexpensive, and full lines of concessions and souvenirs are offered, along with minor league-style promotions, including lucky signature giveaways, on-field contests, and player appearances.
