2011: Started all 20 games as a senior ... tied for fifth on the team with 32 points ... posted a career high with 15 assists in 2011 ... also totaled a career-best 12 draw controls her final season ... recorded four multi-goal and four multi-assist games ... registered six contests with three or more points on the season ... totaled a season-high four points (1g, 3a) against Ohio State on Feb. 12 ... scored a season-high three goals versus Princeton on Mar. 5.
2010: Moved into the starting line-up as a junior while appearing in all 20 games … ranked fifth on the team with 21 points and 18 goals, both career highs … also dished out a career-best three assists in addition to setting career season highs in ground balls (13) and draws (8) … led Duke to 19-10 win at No. 11 Vanderbilt, scoring a career-high four goals against the Commodores … registered multi-goal games against Navy and No. 20 William and Mary as well ... named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2009: Appeared in six matches as a sophomore … totaled seven points on five goals and two assists … was 4-4 on free position attempts … won two draw controls.
2008: Played in eight games … netted four goals and chipped in an assist for five points … scored four times on just eight shots (.500) … all eight shots were on goal … 1-for-3 on free position attempts … picked up a ground ball and won a draw control while also causing two turnovers.
Prior to Duke: Four-year varsity letterwinner at Oak Knoll … won the 2007 World Championship as a member of Under-19 National Team … two-time All-American … first team all-state … multiple year all-conference, all-division and all-metro choice … team MVP and captain … 2007 Metro Lacrosse Foundation Scholarship winner … won team’s best first-year player award as a freshman … four-year letterwinner in field hockey, while serving as team captain and earning first team all-state honors … honor roll student.
Personal: Virginia McMahon Crotty ... daughter of Gerald and Lucille Crotty … has three sisters (Alexandra, Sarah and Martha) and two brothers (Joe and Ned) … brother Ned (‘10) was a member of the 2010 NCAA National Championship Duke men’s lacrosse team and plays for the MLL’s Chicago Machine … father played football, ice hockey and rugby at Fordham University … siblings Sarah, Martha, Ned and Joe all graduated from Duke ... majored in Sociology with a certificate in Markets and Management Studies.
