Prior to Duke: Attended Newton North High School ... two-time MIAA All-State 800m champion, one-time MIAA All-State 600m champion, two-time MIAA All-State 600m runner-up, one-time MIAA All-State 4x400 relay champion and eight-time New Balance Nationals participant ... helped lead Newton North to four MIAA All-State team champion titles, along with three runner-up finishes and one third place ... five-time Boston Globe All-Scholastic honoree, six-time Bay State Conference All-Star and two-time Bay State Conference MVP ... owns the 10th fastest all-time indoor high school 600m time of 1:18.87 ... also was a three year letter winner in soccer.

Personal: Son of Brian Burba and Dana Hanson ... has one brother named Bruce ... both parents ran collegiate cross country for Brown University.
