Honors: 2018 All-ACC Second Team (Heptathlon, Decathlon), All-ACC Academic Men's Track and Field Team (2018, Indoors)

2018-19 T&F: Participated in two meets during the outdoor season … at the Battle of the Blues (4/6), earned a PR time of 14.79 in the 110m hurdles and placed second in the 4x400m relay (3:17.94).

2017-18: Competed in five competitions during the indoor season, and one during the outdoor campaign … posted a solid outing at the Power Five Invite (2/3), taking fourth overall and third among collegiate competitors in the heptathlon with a total of 5,072 points … earned All-ACC Second Team honors with a sixth-place finish at the ACC Indoor Championships in the heptathlon, racking up a total of 5,198 points—a personal-best and good for fourth in Duke history … selected to the 2018 All-ACC Academic Men’s Indoor Track and Field Team … posted a solid performance at the ACC Outdoor Championships, earning Second Team All-ACC honors in the decathlon, closing the competition with 6,498 points to finish sixth to earn the first outdoor conference honors of his career.

2016-17: Did not compete during the 2016-17 season.

Prior to Duke: Lettered all four years under Willie Parker while attending South Walton High School in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla…placed first at the 2014 AAU Junior Olympic National Championship in the decathlon…placed first in the 2015 USATF Junior Olympic National Championship in the decathlon…finished sixth in the 110m hurdles and the 4x400 at the 2016 Florida State Championships…ranked 10th in graduating high school class.

Personal: Son of Ashlie and Claus Friis…born on Sept. 17, 1997 in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla…has two brothers, Dane and Matthias, and sister Olivia.
