DURHAM, N.C.— The Duke women's golf program will close the regular season this week as the 11th-ranked Blue Devils travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational March 23-24 at the Colonial Country Club.
Seeing action will be host TCU along with Arizona (#22), Auburn (#6), Duke (#11), Mississippi State (#16), Oklahoma State, Oregon (#7), SMU, Stanford (#1), Texas (#5), Texas A&M (#3), Tulane and Wake Forest (#9). The field includes seven teams ranked in the top 11 nationally.
Duke will travel a lineup that includes graduate student
Andie Smith, junior
Katie Li, sophomore
Carla De Troia, sophomore
Anna Cañado Espinal and freshman
Rianne Malixi.
Teams will play 36 holes of stroke play Monday and then 18 holes Tuesday to close action. The golfers will open Monday's action with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (ET). Tuesday will feature tee times starting at 9:15 a.m. (ET), off No. 1 and No. 10.
Over the last two stroke play tournaments Malixi has competed in, she has placed first and third, respectively. Malixi has carded a final round of 63 in both events and shot a combined 20-under-par at the Sea Best Intercollegiate and the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. A native of Manila, Philippines, Malixi has moved to No. 12 nationally in the rankings and owns a 68.2 stroke average this spring. She is coming off collecting three match play wins at the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play this past week in Aiken, South Carolina.
Duke's Smith (#56), Li (#58),
Avery McCrery (#93) and Cañado Espinal (#96) are also ranked in the top 100 nationally.
Schwab has served as the title sponsor of the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational since 2024, but this is the first time Duke has competed.
The Blue Devils open play Monday at 10:30 a.m. (ET), with a shotgun start off holes 12-14.
