DURHAM, N.C. – After opening the 2026 season with three wins at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, Duke's Varsity Eight was named the ACC Crew of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Justine Medveckus powered past their competition in the season-opening regatta in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
In their first race of the weekend, the Blue Devils beat out Miami at the finish line, crossing just 0.567 ahead of the Hurricanes to capture the win in the photo finish.
The Blue Devils were dominant in the afternoon session, sweeping all five races against No. 14 Indiana and No. 24 Oklahoma. The Varsity Eight clocked a time of 6:28.677, finishing five seconds ahead of the second-place Sooners and 11 seconds faster than the Hoosiers in third.
The Varsity Eight crew completed the three-race sweep on Sunday, registering the winning time of 6:34.864 in Duke's final race of the day.
As a team, the Blue Devils won 12 of their 15 races during the two-day regatta, while collecting a second-place finish and pair of third-place finishes in their remaining races.
Duke returns to Melton Hill Lake April 3-4 for the Rocky Top Invitational, hosted by No. 4 Tennessee, in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Blue Devils will take on No. 17 Penn, No. 21 USC, No. 23 Alabama, Clemson, Iowa, Minnesota, UCLA and the host Volunteers.
