DURHAM, N.C.— Nineteen members of the Duke field team have been selected to the 2025 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, the coaches' organization announced Wednesday.
Earning recognition for their outstanding efforts in the classroom as well as the turf are
Madison Beach, Sydney Beare, Paige Bitting, Julia Boehringer, Stella Bumgarner, Gracie Butler, Kate Donnellan, Sofia Fidalgo Schioppa, Juliette Gatsonides, Maggie Kondrath, Kyle Massey, Alaina McVeigh, Sophia Miller, Juliette Schulten, Lily Soldan, Abby Spear, Ashley Stockdale, Macy Szukics, and
Shae Wozniak.
Bitting, McVeigh, Spear and Szukics each garnered the award for the fourth time in their careers. They are four of the nearly 200 Division I field hockey athletes to achieve the distinction.
It is the third award for Kondrath, Massey and Miller, the second for Beach, Boehringer, Butler and Stockdale. Rookies Beare, Bumgarner, Donnellan, Fidalgo Schioppa, Schulten, Soldan and Wozniak picked up their first collegiate honors.
The NFHCA recognized more than 1,100 outstanding undergraduate athletes from 82 institutions who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester.
The Blue Devils finished the year 13-8 overall, advancing to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals.
