Duke aims to make it 10 straight wins Sunday when the Blue Devils host Georgia Tech. The Blue Devils are 12-6 overall, 7-0 in league action with their last loss coming Dec. 4 against LSU. The 7-0 start in ACC play is Duke's best under head coach Kara Lawson. The last time a Duke team won more than six conference games to start was in 2012-13 - going 15-0 en route to a 17-1 conference record.
Duke's six losses are against the current NET No. 5 LSU, No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 South Carolina, No. 21 West Virginia, No. 27 Baylor and No. 69 South Florida. The Blue Devils are led on offense by sophomore Toby Fournier's 17.7 points per game. Taina Mair is having a career year, averaging 11.6 points, 5.1 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. Ashlon Jackson is dropping 12.5 points per game and a team-best 36 three-pointers. Fournier, Delaney Thomas and Arianna Roberson lead the charge on the glass, averaging 7.2 and 5.7 rebounds per game, respectively. Thomas also contributes 10.4 points per game on a team-high 63 percent shooting, while Roberson adds 8.1 points and 1.1 blocks per game. Fournier is the top rim protector, averaging 2.3 blocks per game.Â
Georgia Tech is back in action after having a midweek break. The Yellow Jackets are 8-10 overall and 3-3 in league play after battling to a tough 58-55 win over Clemson. Talayah Walker and Catherine Alben lead the scoring charge, averaging 16.8 and 10.7 points per game. Walker is also the top rebounder at 6.1 boards per contest. Erica Moon and is the playmaker on offense with 3.9 assists per game. Brianna Turnage and Walker pace the defense with 29 and 28 steals, respectively.
Duke and Georgia Tech play for the 78th time with the Blue Devils holding a commanding 66-11 lead in the series. The Blue Devils are 31-4 at home against the Jackets and last lost to Georgia Tech, 59-46, in 2022.
 Inside the ACC
Duke and Louisville are the lone teams to remain unbeaten in league play, sporting 7-0 records. Those two teams meet Feb. 5.
Duke's offense has been steady in conference play, leading the league in assists (18.14), ranking tied for second in assist to turnover ratio (1.30), fourth in scoring offense (76.1) and fifth in both field goal (.452) and three-point field goal percentage (.336).
Individually, Toby Fournier ranks third in league scoring average at 18.9 points per game. Ashlon Jackson (4.9) and Taina Mair (4.6) are fifth and seventh in assists, respectively. Duke, California and Georgia tech are the three ACC teams to have two players averaging at least 4.0 assists per game in league play.
Defensively, Duke is one of the best in the ACC. The Blue Devils lead the league in scoring defense (59.1), sit in third in assist to turnover ratio (1.30) and in blocks (5.57) and fourth in opponent field goal percentage (.386) and steals (9.29).Â
 What the Analytics Say About Duke
Duke has made great strides in the past month. Defensively, the Blue Devils are excelling when it comes to breaking down the numbers. According to HerHoopStats, Duke is eighth in defensive rating at 72.6.
Offensively, HerHoopStats has Duke ranked 23rd of 363 teams with a 111.5 offensive rating. The Blue Devils average 100.6 points per 100 possessions overall this seaosn.
The Blue Devils lead the nation in opponent average win percentage with Duke's foes winning 67.5 of their games this season. The simple RPI by HHS has Duke at No. 10.
Individually, Delaney Thomas tops the list as one of Duke's most efficient players, averaging 1.15 points per possession and holding an efficiency rating of 62.9. Toby Fournier is right behind her at 0.98 PPP and 54.7 efficiency.
No Sophomore Slump for Fournier
Toby Fournier is off to a great first half of her sophomore season, leading the Blue Devils in points and rebounding. Overall, Fournier is the top scoring forward in the league and ranks third overall in scoring in the ACC at 17.7 points per game.
Fournier is eighth in scoring average for forwards from Power 5 basketball programs.
 Mair Does It All
Mair has done it all this season for the Blue Devils. She has scored double-digits in nine of the 18 games, collected at least five rebounds in 11 contests, including 10 at Cal, and picked up three-plus steals eight times. The Boston native's 41 steals are fifth in the ACC. Mair has led Duke in points five times, rebounds four times, assists in 10 games and steals seven times.
With 19 points and three assists at South Florida, Mair became the fifth player to reach 1,000 career points and 500 career assists while wearing a Blue Devil uniform. She is the sixth to hit 500 assists. Needing 12 rebounds to surpass 500, Mair would be just the third Duke player to finish her collegiate career at Duke with those three milestones. Â Â Â
Mair currently is the lone guard in the ACC to have 1,000 points and 500 assists and ranks sixth among active players with 566 assists. She is on pace to become the sixth active player in Division I women's basketball to have the 1,000, 500, 500. Â Â
