DURHAM, N.C. – Duke is set to travel to Georgia to compete in the Classic City Clash in Athens, where the Blue Devils will face Texas Tech, Alabama State and Georgia from Sept. 3-5.
Last Time Out
The Blue Devils opened the 2025 season posting a 3-1 triumph over Bryant, but fell to Houston, 3-0, and Florida International, 3-1. On Friday against Bryant, Duke tallied 54 kills, led by outside hitter Taylor Williams, who registered 18 on just two errors while hitting .327. Middle blocker Breonna Goss and outside hitter Ashby Zubchevich each added eight kills to fuel the attack. On the defensive side, three Blue Devils notched double-digit digs: libero Mailinh Godschall (20), Zubchevich (10) and libero Christina Barrow (10). Duke also totaled 20 blocks, with middle blockers Zoë Gillen-Malveaux and Ngozi Iloh recording six apiece.
Duke fell to Houston, 3-0, Saturday evening inside Cameron. Offensively, Williams led the attack with 10 kills, while Zubchevich added nine. Godschall garnered a game-best 20 digs, marking the second consecutive game she has tallied double-digit digs.
The Blue Devils closed out their opening weekend Sunday, falling 3-1 to FIU. Zubchevich led the offensive charge for the Blue Devils, logging a career-high 14 kills. Gillen-Malveaux hit a game-best .571 attack percentage and setter Millie Muir dished out a team-best 17 helpers. Defensively, Godschall tallied 14 digs, while Iloh earned five total blocks.
