DURHAM, N.C.— Duke men's lacrosse seniors
Andrew McAdorey and
Jack Gray were selected second and 27th overall by the California Redwoods and the Denver Outlaws, respectively, in the 2025 Premier Lacrosse League College Draft Tuesday night.
McAdorey joins former Blue Devil Nakeie Montgomery on the Redwoods while Gray is reunited with former teammate
Brennan O'Neill at the Outlaws. Former Blue Devils JT Giles-Harris, Will Haus and Michael Manley also suit up for Denver.
McAdorey, capable of playing both midfield and attack at an elite level, is tied for second in scoring for the Blue Devils with 21 goals and 21 assists for 42 points this season. The 2024 USILA First Team All-American recently garnered his second All-ACC award and helped send Duke into the ACC Championship with the assist on the overtime winner at Virginia.
Most recently in the ACC Championship, McAdorey had four goals and two assists in two games as Duke came up just short, 9-8, in the title game against Syracuse. The senior captain has at least three points in 10 games this season and registered two hat tricks. Duke's Tewaaraton nominee, McAdorey turned in a memorable performance earlier in the year with the final three goals in the overtime win against Michigan. McAdorey, a starter in every game of his career, ranks 25th in Duke history with 179 points (108g, 71a).
Gray, a stalwart defensive midfielder, has been a mainstay on Duke's elite rope unit throughout his career. He has played in 60 career games and is an anchor to the Blue Devils' stellar defense this season. He has 11 turnovers in 2025 and has picked up 20 ground balls, surpassing his total in 17 games last season. A senior captain, Gray has helped Duke's defensive unit take another step this season. Duke has held each of its past six opponents to single digits and is allowing foes just over seven goals per game while holding them to 21-percent shooting in that span. For his career, Gray has 29 caused turnovers and 61 ground balls.
The Blue Devils are 12-5 overall and are the No. 7 seed in the 2025 NCAA Championship and host Georgetown May 10 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast by ESPNU with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals in Annapolis, Md.
