CARLSBAD, Calif. - Duke men's golf sophomore
Bryan Kim will tee off at the NCAA Championship, held at the Omni La Costa North Course, on Friday, May 22. Kim will represent the Blue Devils as the low individual on a non-advancing team out of the NCAA Reno Regional, after finishing in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard at 6-under, 210, for the event.Â
A native of Brookeville, Md., Kim enters the NCAA Championship ranked 61st nationally in the latest individual rankings from Scoreboard Powered by clippd. Having earned a starting nod in all 12 of Duke's team events this season and currently under-par for the season, Kim has finished 22nd or better in all but one event this season and possesses the sixth-best single-season stroke average in program history at 71.22. The sophomore also leads the team in rounds that were under-par (15), in the 60's (nine) and at par or better (22), and has finished at par or better in 12 of his last 16 rounds.Â
Kim's tie for third place at the Reno Regional matched his best finish of the season after he also tied for third with a 7-under, 209 in Duke's home event, the Rod Myers Invitational, during the fall portion of the schedule. Kim closed the Reno Regional with a bogey-free, 5-under, 67, and rolled in two birdies across his final four holes to move into the advancing individual spot as the round came to a close. His 5-under effort in the final round was tied for the best score on the course, matching just two other individuals who signed for a 5-under in the third round. Across all final rounds this season, Kim is averaging a score of 70.33 and has shot under-par in six of them.
The 2025 NCAA Championship are held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, which will host the event through at least 2028. The course, after going through a renovation and redesign ahead of the 2024 NCAA Championships, plays to a par of 72Â and a distance of 7,528 yards. All 30 teams and nine individuals will play three rounds of stroke play across the first three days of competition, beginning with the first round on Friday. Following the third round, the top 15 teams and nine individuals on a non-advancing team will play the fourth round of stroke play to determine the individual national champion and the eight teams that advance to match play.
Kim tees off of No. 1 at 5:02 p.m., ET for the first round and begins his second round at 11:42 a.m., ET, off of No. 10. Pairings and tee times for the third round will be determined via standings following the conclusion of the second round. Live scoring is available on

With Kim's appearance in the NCAA Championship, Duke has now had an individual represent the Blue Devils in back-to-back NCAA Championships, after
Ethan Evans did so last season. Evans narrowly missed out on the fourth round of stoke play, bowing out in a playoff for the final individual spots after catching fire in the third round with a 5-under, 67, en route to a three-round score of 4-over, 220.Â
