SPARKS, Md. – Four members of the Duke men's lacrosse team have been invited to a training camp ahead of the 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship. The world championship will be held in Seoguipo, South Korea on Jeju Island from August 15-24, 2025.
Representing the Blue Devils on the 32-player list are
Patrick Jameison,
Benn Johnston,
Nikolas Menendez and
Luke Warrington. Duke, North Carolina and Notre Dame led the way with four players apiece.
The upcoming training camp will be held at Towson University from June 9-11, the first of three camps before the world championship. Following this camp, the coaching staff will announce the final 22-man roster for the world championship along with selected alternates. The team will then hold a camp at Cornell University from July 23-26 and then a camp in California before heading across the Pacific to Korea for the world championship.
The 32 players include 15 college sophomores, 12 college freshman and five high school seniors. The players come from high schools in 10 states and represent 17 different colleges.
Jameison and Johnston recently completed solid sophomore seasons with the Blue Devils, earning All-ACC honors and a host of All-America awards. Menendez and Warrington both are coming off their freshman seasons with Menendez earning a starting role midway through and Warrington bolstering Duke's stellar rope unit.
Starting every game in goal, Jameison dropped his goals against average from 10.25 last season to 9.73 in 2025 while his save percentage increased from .531 to .534 between his rookie and sophomore campaign. He averaged 10.33 saves per game and came on strong in the latter half of the season with double-digit saves in the final eight games, including 16 in the ACC Championship final against Syracuse.
Johnston, starting all 18 games in the midfield, finished his second year with 28 goals and seven assists for 35 points. His 28 markers are seven more than he had a season ago with five of them coming on extra man. Johnston scored a career-high five goals against Princeton and registered two hat tricks overall. In two seasons, Johnston has 49 goals and 15 assists for 64 points.
Playing in 12 games with six starts on close defense, Menendez started to hit his stride down the stretch of the season. In his six starting assignments, the Culver Academy product helped Duke hold four opponents to single digits and picked up 13 ground balls and caused one turnover.
Warrington played in all 18 games as a defensive midfielder for the Blue Devils. He helped to lead one of the nation's best rope units, compiling seven ground balls and two caused turnovers. He also contributed a goal.
