RENO, Nev. - The NCAA Reno Regional was able to complete the first round and a majority of the second round before play was suspended due to darkness on Tuesday, May 13. The Duke men's golf team is currently 17-over and tied for 10th place, having played between 13 and 14 holes in the second round prior to the suspension of play.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED: ROUND TWO
- Duke finished its first round in the early afternoon and began the second round with a shotgun start. The Blue Devils completed the first round in seventh place, with a score of 13-over, 301.
- Bryan Kim finished his first round with three consecutive birdies on holes No. 6-8 to secure an under-par opening 18 holes of 1-under, 71. The sophomore teed off the second round on the par-3 11th and made the turn to the front-nine at 1-under for the round following a birdie on the par-4 15th. A lone dropped shot on the front-nine sent Kim back to even-par for the round, which was suspended with Kim playing the par-3 seventh.
- Kelly Chinn posted a 4-over, 76, in the first round before starting the second round on the par-5 13th. The senior played the first two holes at 3-over, but moved to the front-nine with momentum following a birdie on the par-5 18th. His only dropped shot on the front-nine came on the par-4 first, before Chinn ripped off three birdies in his next six holes to move back to even-par. Chinn will resume play on the ninth hole.
- Ethan Evans ended the first round at 9-over, 81, but was in red figures early on in his second round following a birdie on the par-4 17th. After turning to the front-nine, Evans dropped three shots across a pair of holes, No. 2 and 3, before responding with back-to-back birdies on No. 4 and No. 5. A bogey on No. 6 sent Evans to 1-over for the round at the point of suspension, which came as the junior was playing the par-5 eighth.
- Luke Sample signed for a 5-over, 77, in the first round. He began the second round with consecutive bogeys, before gaining a shot back with a birdie on the par-3 16th, and dropping shots on three holes on the front-nine to remain over-par at the point of suspension. Sample will finish his second round by starting on No. 10 with four holes remaining.
- William Love also carded a 5-over, 77, in the first round before beginning the second round on the par-5 13th. The junior rolled in 10 pars and a birdie during the start of his second round, but a pair of triple-bogeys, on holes No. 18 and No. 2, have Love sitting at 5-over with five holes to complete at the resumption of play.

- Play is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, May 14Â at 11:30 a.m., ET, for the completion of the second round, followed by the third and final round.
