Graduate student
Dani Drogemuller tossed her fourth complete game of the season against the Tigers. The Frankfort, Ill., native surrendered one run off six hits with a game-high six strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first three frames, graduate student Thessa Malau'ulu broke through with the first Blue Devil run via a triple down the right field line. Her knock scored senior Ana Gold, who reached on a base hit before advancing on a stolen base.
- Clemson tied the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth with a solo shot off the bat of Maddie Moore.
- In the top of the seventh, redshirt junior Jada Baker sparked the Blue Devils' offense again with a two-out single up the middle before moving into scoring position on a passed ball. Junior D'Auna Jennings took advantage of a Clemson throwing error, reaching first safely and allowing freshman Gabriella Mike, pinch running for Baker, to slide into home for the go-ahead run.
- The Tigers attempted to battle back in the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff single to right field but left the runner stranded as Drogemuller sat down the following three batters.
