ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
- Duke opens the season ranked No. 16 in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Pocock Preseason Poll. Duke was one of five ACC teams ranked in the top 25, joining No. 2 Stanford, No. 10 Syracuse, No. 12 Virginia and No. 18 Notre Dame.
- Junior Lena Mills was named to the 2025 Preseason ACC Rowing Watch List, the conference office announced. The list consists of one student-athlete from each program, nominated by their respective schools. The ACC is the only conference with a preseason rowing watch list. A 2024 CRCA All-American, Mills was a key member of the Varsity Eight lineup last season, seeing action in all nine regattas.
- Head Coach Adrian Spracklen is in his first season with the Blue Devils after being named the program's third head coach in July. He comes to Durham after a 32-year stint as the director of rowing at Mercyhurst University. Under Spracklen's guidance, the Lakers women's rowing team made 18 appearances at the NCAA Division II National Championships, including three national titles and six runner-up finishes. After taking over the men's program in 1998, the Lakers men's team has become equally successful, capturing eight Dad Vail trophies during the last 10 years.
